
Labrador Shrimp Seeking 5% Share Of Future Offshore Northern Cod Growth
The Labrador Fishermen’s Union Shrimp Company Ltd has declared that they are seeking a 5% share of future offshore Northern cod growth to help sustain jobs, communities, and long-term economic stability in Southern Labrador.
As part of the request to the Federal Department of Fisheries, Lab Shrimp President and CEO, Dwight Russell, launched its new Adjacency Matters campaign on Monday. The multi-week campaign is strategically designed to support a long-term, self-sustaining transition for Southern Labrador communities that have historically relied on the shrimp fishery as shrimp quotas drop and cod quotas increase.
